PAEDOPHILE PAUL SHAW FROM BOOTLE SENT TO JAIL FOR CHILD SEX OFFENSES
In June 2022, a disturbing case unfolded involving Paul Shaw, a 61-year-old man from Bootle, who engaged in predatory online behavior targeting what he believed was a young teenage girl.Shaw, a grandfather, was deceived by a paedophile hunting group that set up a fake Facebook profile posing as a 13-year-old girl.
This decoy was approached by Shaw, who sent her an alarming number of messages, totaling around 100 per day over a span of several days.
Matthew Dunford, the prosecutor in the case, explained that a member of the organization No More Silent Voices created the fake profile and received a friend request from Shaw.
Following this, Shaw began to communicate with the profile with increasing frequency, and his messages grew progressively more sexual in nature.
