Michael Williams, of Midway Road, has now been jailed for six years after appearing at Derby Crown Court to admit possession of a total of 595 movies and 415 indecent images of children in Swadlincote made over a six-year period. Williams admitted possession of 179 extreme pornographic movies and 385 images which involved a person performing a sexual act on a live animal in Swadlincote between December 14, 2010, and June 6, 2016. He also admitted making 100 category C indecent movies and 15 category C indecent images of a children; making 76 category B indecent movies and six category B indecent images of a child; and 186 category A, the most serious, indecent movies and nine category A indecent images of a child in Swadlincote December 14, 2010, and June 6, 2016. Indecent images are now classified intro three categories: category A – deemed the most severe, category B – the mid-range in terms of seriousness and category C, the least. Each category has a list of characteristics used to assist a jury, and the deemed categories will set the sentencing boundaries. Williams also pleaded guilty to making 34 category C self-generated indecent movies of a child; 16 category B self-generated indecent movies of a child, and four category A self-generated indecent movies of a child, in Swadlincote between January 20, 2016 and June 3, 2016. Williams also incited a boy aged under 16 into engaging in sexual activity in Swadlincote on May 26, 2016 and June 9, 2016, and incited a girl aged under into engaging in sexual activity in Swadlincote on December 14, 2011. Williams has been jailed for six years. He has also been made the subject of a sexual harm prevention order until further notice and put on a barring list which prevents him from working with children in the future.
