ABERDEEN MAN JAILED AFTER GIRLFRIEND POSTS INJURIES ON SOCIAL MEDIA
A man identified as Michael Hannah, aged 39, was involved in a violent assault on his girlfriend in Aberdeen.
He admitted to head-butting his partner, who posted photos of her injuries on social media, which led to his discovery and subsequent arrest.
The incident occurred on Union Grove following a drunken argument on July 10.
Hannah was seen chasing and attacking his partner, striking her on the body and head-butting her, causing her to fall and sustain facial injuries with bleeding from her nose and mouth.
An ambulance took her to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary.
Hannah had no memory of the assault the next morning but learned of his actions through social media.
He then handed himself in to the police.
The court heard that Hannah had a lengthy history of violence, and he was sentenced to a community payback order with 12 months' supervision and 160 hours of unpaid work.
