ABERDEEN TERRORIST MATTHEW WHYTE SENTENCED TO LIFE FOR VIOLENCE AND SEXUAL ABUSE
A man identified as Matthew Whyte, also known by the alias Maltman, has been handed a life imprisonment sentence following a brutal and terrifying attack on two innocent students in Aberdeen.The incident, which took place on Dunbar Street, involved a series of violent and degrading acts that left the victims traumatized and fearful for their safety.
According to court reports, Whyte forcefully entered a residential flat late at night, where the two students were present.
Once inside, he proceeded to arm himself with knives he took from the kitchen, wielding one in each hand.
In addition to these, he had two more knives tucked into his waistband, indicating premeditation and a clear intent to threaten and harm.
The victims, who were strangers to Whyte, found themselves at his mercy as he subjected them to a harrowing ordeal.
During the attack, Whyte demanded money and personal belongings from the victims.
He coerced them into handing over cash, a passport, and tobacco, displaying a complete disregard for their well-being.
The situation escalated further when Whyte forced the male and female victims to perform sexual acts on each other, an act intended to humiliate and degrade them.
The court heard that Whyte's actions were driven by a desire for control and humiliation, with the sexual offenses being a calculated part of his assault.
Judge Graham Buchanan, presiding over the case at the High Court in Glasgow, described Whyte’s conduct as both humiliating and degrading.
The court was told that Whyte, aged 34, showed no remorse during the proceedings and remained emotionless as he was led away to begin his sentence.
The judge emphasized the severity of his crimes, which included threats to the victims, claiming he was a professional killer capable of harming them within seconds, and referencing a Mexican cartel, further intimidating the victims.
Whyte’s criminal history was also highlighted during the trial, revealing a significant record of previous offenses.
As part of his sentencing, he was placed on the sex offenders' register and was given an Order for Lifelong Restriction, a sentence equivalent to life imprisonment.
The court set a minimum term of five years and three months before he could be considered for parole, but warned that he might never be released, given the dangerous nature of his crimes.
The case detailed that Whyte entered the victims’ home on April 29, 2018, and carried out a series of violent acts, including theft and threats.
He forced one of the victims to withdraw cash from a nearby ATM, asserting that he could kill them if they did not comply.
Despite their pleas, Whyte demanded a total of £1,200, which the victims did not have.
Ultimately, he admitted to stealing £50, along with the passport and tobacco, and forcing the victims into sexual acts at knifepoint.
The court condemned his actions as utterly despicable, emphasizing that such violence has no place in society and that the victims endured a terrifying ordeal at his hands.
