Wordsley Sexual Abuser

July 2007 Pervert avoids jail A WORDSLEY pervert caught in possession of “deeply unpleasant” child pornography has avoided jail. Judge Nicholas Webb at Wolverhampton Crown Court told Martyn Jones the interests of society would be “better protected” if he were put onto a sex offenders programme to resolve his problems. The 35-year-old divorcee, of Brooklands, who admitted 22 charges of making indecent images of children and two sex attacks carried out on young girls 18 years ago, was given a three-year Supervision Order and told he must register as a Sex Offender for five years. He was also barred for life from working with children, and the Judge further barred him from being in contact with anyone under 18 without the approval of his supervising officer. He was also told he should not have access to a computer. The Judge said the porn pictures showed girls as young as three being raped and stressed it was only by a “narrow margin” that Jones had not been jailed. He added: “I am confident you are interested in young girls and, in some cases, very young girls.” Mr Andrew Johnson, prosecuting, said the girls finally made complaints to police about the indecent assaults carried out by Jones in the late 1980s when he was still a teenager. Police officers then went to his home where they found 22 still pictures and ten moving images of children under seven having sex with adults. Mr Johnson said Jones maintained to police that he had found the images while surfing the internet for adult pornography, but the Judge was told no adult porn of any kind was found on the hard drive of the computer. Miss Heide Kubic, defending, said Jones accepted the worst of the material involved the moving images and said the number of images was insignificant compared with some of the cases that came before the courts.
