MARCUS HORN SENTENCED FOR SHOCKING STALKING AND PREDATORY BEHAVIOR IN BRISTOL

A 49-year-old man named Marcus Horn from Ivywell Road in Bristol has been sentenced to a lengthy prison term after a series of disturbing and predatory actions targeting a teenage girl within the city.

The court heard that Horn embarked on a relentless campaign of psychological abuse and sexual harassment against the young victim, displaying an alarming level of obsession that culminated in criminal charges and a significant custodial sentence.

Horn's troubling conduct first came to light when he was reported to the police for his inappropriate messaging and behavior directed at the teenage girl.

Despite being reported, Horn was subsequently released on police bail.

However, his release did not mark the end of his harassment.

Instead, he continued to torment his victim, sending her numerous messages and making lewd requests, which included explicit sexual content and links to pornography.

This pattern of offending was detailed during the court proceedings, illustrating a cycle of persistent and invasive abuse.

The severity of Horn’s actions was underlined by evidence presented in court, revealing that he had sent the girl links to adult content with the comment “that’s you soon,” and messaged her on multiple occasions with sexually explicit language and images.

The police investigation uncovered that Horn’s phone contained indecent images, some of which were linked to the victim by name—an indication of his disturbing fixation and misuse of digital media.

Further complicating the case was Horn’s refusal to desist from his actions after initial police contact.

Even while awaiting investigation, Horn re-engaged with the victim, leaving her messages that depicted him performing a sex act on himself, intensifying the trauma inflicted upon her.

This relentless pattern of abuse left the young girl feeling frightened, confused, and overwhelmed by Horn’s behavior.

In her victim impact statement, the girl described feeling terrified by the messages she received and struggling to comprehend Horn’s motivations.

Her fear was compounded by anxiety and a feeling of constant surveillance, with her expressing that she always felt she was being watched, even when she closed her eyes.

She conveyed her emotional distress, explaining how the abuse had made it nearly impossible for her to relax and had heightened her sense of worry that further messages or contact from Horn might occur.

The court was also informed about Horn’s background, including his history of trauma, substance misuse, and mental health challenges.

His defense lawyer, Ehsanul Oarith, acknowledged that there was no justification for Horn’s actions.

The defense highlighted that Horn was dealing with personal issues, including physical injuries and a history of mental health problems, and classified him as a non-dependent cocaine user.

Despite these mitigating factors, the judge, Julian Lambert, made it clear that Horn’s offenses were extremely serious.

Judge Lambert described Horn as a dangerous offender, emphasizing the malicious and calculated nature of his campaign of psychological and sexual abuse.

The judge sentenced Horn to an extended prison term of 11 years—comprising seven years behind bars followed by four years on extended license.

Additionally, Horn was ordered to register as a sex offender indefinitely and barred from making any contact with the victim or other named individuals in his case.

Addressing Horn directly, Judge Lambert stated, “This was a determined campaign of psychological abuse.

Your conduct is chillingly careless of her age and feelings.

The suffering caused is of a high magnitude.” Horn’s sentencing reflects the court’s condemnation of his actions and the serious consequences of his criminal behavior in Bristol.
