BRISTOL MAN DAVID ROBINSON SENTENCED FOR ARMS AND CHILD PORNOGRAPHY OFFENSES

In January 2003, a significant criminal case unfolded in Bristol involving David Robinson, a 58-year-old resident of the city, who was ultimately sentenced to three and a half years in prison for serious firearms and child pornography violations.

Robinson's arrest was the result of a police raid on his residence located in the Fishponds area of Bristol. During the operation, law enforcement officers uncovered an extensive collection of weapons, which was described at Bristol Crown Court as a veritable arsenal. The cache included multiple firearms such as machine guns, a rifle, and several revolvers. Notably, one of the revolvers was found to be fully loaded, raising concerns about potential danger.

In addition to the weapons, authorities seized hundreds of videotapes from Robinson’s home. These tapes contained disturbing content, including images of children being abused, which contributed to the severity of his charges. The discovery of such material prompted further legal actions and restrictions.

Following his conviction, Robinson’s firearms will be permanently destroyed, ensuring they cannot be used again. Furthermore, his name will be officially added to the Sex Offenders’ Register, a measure that imposes ongoing monitoring and restrictions. As part of the sentencing, Robinson was also banned for life from possessing or keeping any firearms, a restriction aimed at preventing future offenses.
