DRUNKEN MAN HEAD-BUTS GIRLFRIEND AND ASSAULTS BYSTANDER IN ABERDEEN
A man named Lucius Jan, aged 20, who was under the influence of alcohol, was involved in violent behaviour after an all-day drinking session in Aberdeen on October 10.He attacked his girlfriend by head-butting her after she threw his takeaway food on the ground, an incident that took place on King Street.
During the court proceedings, it was revealed that Jan admitted to the assault but claimed to have no recollection of the head-butt, despite witness accounts.
Additionally, Jan assaulted a member of the public who attempted to intervene, punching him when he was told to leave the woman alone.
The court heard that Jan said he did not touch his partner and that the bystander 'jumped into a situation' and he saw no need for physical altercation.
He was arrested at the scene, and his defence acknowledged his intoxication during the incident.
The sheriff was concerned about this violent behaviour and warned him that resorting to violence, even when drunk, is unacceptable.
Jan, of Smirack Road, Buckie, was fined £600 for his actions with a warning not to repeat such behavior.
