An incident that began as a seemingly harmless act of 'play boxing' between an Aberdeen couple quickly turned into a serious and disturbing assault, prompting immediate concern and intervention from local authorities.The events unfolded at the residence of Lee Fairbairn, aged 37, on Jasmine Terrace in Aberdeen, where what was initially perceived as a lighthearted physical exchange escalated into violence that left neighbors alarmed and calling the police for help.
According to reports, Fairbairn was dressed in boxing gloves and engaged in what appeared to be playful sparring with his partner.
However, the situation rapidly deteriorated, and neighbors could hear the woman’s screams for help, which prompted them to contact law enforcement.
When police arrived at the scene, they found a distressing scene: Fairbairn was sitting atop his partner, who was visibly injured with facial swelling and bruising.
The officers described the woman as sitting on the sofa, visibly distressed, while Fairbairn was exerting full body weight on her, causing her further pain and injury.
During the police intervention, officers reported hearing a disturbance and the woman’s screams from inside the house.
Upon entering, they observed the woman in a vulnerable state, with Fairbairn refusing to cooperate initially.
It took physical effort from the officers to remove Fairbairn from on top of her.
The woman had sustained head injuries, including swelling, which underscored the severity of the assault.
Fairbairn’s behavior did not end with the domestic incident.
While being processed by the police, he displayed aggressive tendencies, attempting to headbutt and bite one of the officers, further complicating the situation and demonstrating a dangerous level of hostility.
The incident on April 18 marked a troubling escalation in his conduct.
Just a few days later, on April 22, Fairbairn was involved in another disturbing episode.
He was seen knocking on and kicking a neighbor’s door while shouting and making threatening remarks.
This behavior caused additional concern within the community, highlighting a pattern of aggressive and threatening conduct.
Fairbairn eventually pleaded guilty to multiple charges, including domestically aggravated assault causing injury, assaulting a police officer, and threatening behavior.
