LIVERPOOL PAEDOPHILE BACK IN COURT AFTER BREACHING ORDER
A man with a history of child porn offences was caught breaching the terms of his sexual harm prevention order (SHPO) after his offender manager noticed "children's clothing and nappies" in his house.
Kris Hatton was first slapped with an SHPO in 2021 after police raided his home and discovered a sick collection of child rape images.
Appearing at Liverpool Crown Court on Wednesday, March 4, the 34-year-old admitted breaching the order, which stated he was not allowed to delete the online history of any device capable of accessing the internet, or use encryption software to disguise his online activity.
Prosecutor Georgiana Pantelli said: "On November 11, 2024, two officers met with the defendant at Walton Lane police station because his offender manager had raised concerns about children's clothing and nappies found at his address." She added that Hatton had downloaded a VPN in November 2024 and the Opera browser in September 2024, just prior to his arrest.
An examination of his Motorola phone revealed 4,839 deletions of internet history, including porn sites and online chats.
Hatton, of Rice Lane in Fazakerley, had previously received a police caution in January 2014 for four charges of possessing indecent images of children.
When officers attended his home in June 2020, they found 765 sick files, including a picture of a baby being molested, with 143 category A, 180 category B, and 442 category C files, along with one extreme porn file and four prohibited images.
He was ordered to sign the Sex Offenders Register and comply with a five-year SHPO, but in 2023 was again found with indecent images of girls aged 6 to 10, resulting in a 30-month prison sentence and a new indefinite SHPO.
During sentencing, it was noted that Hatton had a learning disability and had not received probation assistance since 2021, but had served an immediate custodial sentence since then.
The court sentenced him to 16 months in prison, highlighting the increased risk due to his activity and record.
