KEVIN MILNE FROM ABERDEEN JAILED FOR SERIOUS SEX OFFENCES IN EDINBURGH
In a case that drew significant media attention, Kevin Milne, a 36-year-old man from Aberdeen, was convicted of multiple serious sexual offences committed in 2018 and 2019.The case initially remained under strict reporting restrictions due to a legal challenge aimed at protecting his identity, which was granted by the sentencing judge, Lord Glennie, at the High Court in Edinburgh.
Milne admitted to committing three separate offences during a court appearance in Edinburgh last year.

During the proceedings, the judge noted that Milne was unable to explain or identify the underlying motivations that led him to commit these crimes.
His defence counsel, Craig Findlater, assured the court that Milne would participate in rehabilitation programmes while incarcerated, which are designed to address behavioural issues and prevent future offending.
The court acknowledged that Milne’s engagement with such programmes would be crucial for his rehabilitation.
Ultimately, Kevin Milne was sentenced to six years in prison and was placed on the sex offenders register indefinitely, marking a significant legal response to his serious criminal conduct in Aberdeen and Edinburgh.
