ABERDEEN MAN WITH KNIVES CAUSES TERROR AT HOME
A knife-wielding individual arrived unannounced at his former partner's flat in Aberdeen, causing widespread distress by threatening to stab anyone inside as well as neighbors.Jordan Stewart, aged 27, arrived shouting and screaming threats while banging on doors in the Gairsay Road block.
He was found to be carrying two knives, which he used to damage the ex-partner’s door and threatened to harm "any f***ing c***" inside her flat.
According to fiscal depute Jane Spark, Stewart sent numerous threatening emails to his former partner on June 12, 2023, including a photo of a knife which she perceived as a threat towards a male she believed was with him.
Despite her warning that she would call the police if he came to her home, Stewart arrived around 11:15 pm shouting, "Open this f***ing door.
I’ll stav any f***ing c*** in your house and I’ll stab all your f***ing neighbours.
I’ll stab the lot of yous." His shouting included identifying and threatening neighbors, warning he would return to harm them.
He hit a neighbor’s door with what appeared to be a knife, then booted it, raising fears of break-in.
Stewart's ex initially tried to hide inside, but upon hearing that he had a knife, she became concerned about self-harm and went downstairs, only to see Stewart outside swinging his arms as he threatened her and others.
Police arrived shortly afterward, arresting Stewart, who was found in possession of two small pocket knives.
He replied to the police’s caution and charge: “I completely accept that and know that I’m wrong.” Stewart pleaded guilty to behaving in a threatening or abusive manner.
His defense argued he functions at a younger cognitive age and would benefit from community support for changing his attitude, noting he had not used drugs or alcohol since the offense.
The sheriff described the offense as “troubling” and acknowledged Stewart was at a “crossroads,” with the choice to continue offending risking a custodial sentence.
The court sentenced Stewart to a two-year supervision order, 170 hours of unpaid work, and mandated participation in the Caledonian programme for domestic offenders.
Additionally, a four-month curfew and a five-year non-harassment order were imposed.
