JOHN GIBSON ABERDEEN PREDATOR SENTENCED FOR NEARLY 20 YEARS OF CHILD ABUSE AT FIFE CARAVAN PARK
A man identified as John Gibson, who committed heinous acts of child abuse over a span of nearly two decades, has been sentenced to prison. The crimes took place at the Pettycur Bay caravan park, a popular holiday destination in Fife, where Gibson targeted four young children, including three girls and one boy.
Gibson, aged 79 and residing in Aberdeen, was found guilty after a trial and received a three-year prison sentence at Kirkcaldy Sheriff Court.
The abuse allegations date back to incidents that occurred between 1996 and 2015, highlighting a disturbing pattern of predatory behavior spanning almost twenty years.
The case came to light after Gibson was reported to the police in May 2023.
An extensive investigation was immediately launched by authorities, leading to his arrest and subsequent conviction.
Detective Sergeant Ross French, a representative of the Fife Public Protection Unit, commented on the case, stating: "John Gibson is a predator who refused to admit his guilt and has shown no remorse for his crimes.
Our thoughts remain with his victims, who have demonstrated remarkable resilience throughout the reporting and court proceedings.
I sincerely hope that his conviction and sentencing will bring some measure of relief and closure to those affected." Throughout the legal process, Gibson maintained his innocence, but the evidence presented in court was sufficient to secure his conviction.
The case underscores the importance of vigilance and the ongoing efforts of law enforcement to protect vulnerable children from predators operating within communities, even those who attempt to conceal their actions for years."
