JACQUELINE MILNE AND SHOCKING SEXUAL MISCONDUCT IN ABERDEEN
In a deeply troubling case that has shocked the community of Aberdeen, Jacqueline Milne, a 36-year-old woman, was convicted of engaging in illicit sexual activities with a 15-year-old boy.The incident occurred after she invited the teenager into her home on the evening of the encounter, following a party at the same residence.
According to court proceedings, Milne and the juvenile had been at a social gathering, and after the event, he had walked her home.
Once inside her dwelling on Wellheads Avenue in Dyce, she offered him a drink, pouring a glass of wine and instructing him to 'down it.' What followed was a series of inappropriate and criminal actions that have led to her conviction.
The fiscal depute, Lynne MacVicar, detailed that Milne told the boy to remove his top, after which she kissed him and took him to her bedroom.
There, she performed a sexual act on him.
The court was also informed that they then engaged in sexual intercourse that same evening, and this activity was repeated in the early hours of the following morning.
Over the subsequent weeks, the relationship persisted through continued contact, and around the end of May 2019, they had sex again, following communications initiated by Milne.
The court heard that Milne was confronted about her conduct after the person who hosted the initial party overheard rumours and became suspicious.
Initially, she denied any wrongdoing, but later admitted to having engaged in sexual activity with the boy.
This admission was prompted after the boy's parents raised concerns upon discovering messages on his Facebook account, which suggested sexual activity had taken place.
One of these messages showed the boy attempting to contact Milne and mentioning a desire to fight another man, while another involved him reaching out to her with similar intentions.
In a distressing exchange, Milne responded to these messages by claiming that she had no memory of the events, stating, “You came to my house when I was drunk, had sex with me which I have no memory of whatsoever ...
that can be classed as rape, so stop threatening me please.” During police interviews, Milne, of Wellheads Avenue in Dyce, claimed she believed the boy to be 17 years old at the time of the incidents.
She initially pleaded not guilty to a charge of engaging in sexual activity with someone under 16 but changed her plea to guilty before her trial last month.
Her defence attorney, Liam McAllister, argued that the boy was “never in any way interested” in involving the police and expressed that he was “more than happy” for their interactions to be made public.
Following her conviction, Sheriff Morag MacLachlan sentenced Milne to a two-year period of supervision, during which she will be monitored by social workers.
Additionally, she was ordered to complete 225 hours of unpaid community service and is to be registered as a sex offender for the next two years, reflecting the seriousness of her actions and the harm caused to the young victim.
