ABERDEEN MAN IMPRISONED FOR VIOLENT DOMESTIC ABUSE AND RESISTING ARREST
An individual named Jamie Will, aged 24, has been sentenced for a series of domestic abuse incidents in Aberdeen that occurred between July 2021 and February 2022.Will was found guilty of subjecting his former partner to multiple acts of violence, including kicking, biting, and standing on her, which resulted in bruising and significant fear.
The court heard that he also sent threatening texts, including images of her personal belongings with threats to burn them.
Specifically, in July 2021, Will sent numerous threatening messages, and later punched her in the face, leaving a large bruise.
In September 2021, during an argument on King Street, he bit her on the nose after she was being 'disrespectful.' On September 29, he attempted to seize her mobile phone, then violently assaulted her by biting her nose, which caused bleeding.
On February 15, during a drinking incident, Will was involved in an altercation where he slapped her in the face, put her in a headlock, pushed her to the ground, and repeatedly stood on her.
He also threatened to drop her phone down a drain and resisted arrest, struggling violently with police officers and kicking out at their vehicle.
Will pleaded guilty to charges of domestic abuse and resisting police.
His defense argued that his behavior was 'utterly abhorrent and disgusting' but expressed hope for his rehabilitation through professional help.
The sheriff recognized the increase in Will’s domestic offending and previous unsuccessful interventions, ultimately sentencing him to 160 days in jail.
