ABERDEEN MAN JAMIE STEWART JAILED FOR DECADE-LONG VIOLENCE AND ABUSE
A man named Jamie Stewart has been sentenced to prison after committing a series of violent and abusive acts against two former partners over nearly ten years.Stewart subjected one woman to severe domestic violence in her Aberdeen residence, including smashing a plate over her head and elbowing her while she was pregnant.
He also headbutted, choked, and bit a different partner, additionally threatening her and her family.
Court records reveal incidents dating back to December 2012 when Stewart’s first partner broke up with him after he forcibly grabbed her and smashed her phone.
Despite the breakup, Stewart repeatedly sought reconciliation, culminating in an assault where he headbutted her, leaving her with a scar.
Their on-off relationship was marred by Campbell's violence, including smashing a dinner plate over her head and punching her while pregnant.
The second woman, met in December 2019, also endured Stewart’s threats, harassment, and physical assaults, including climbing into her home from her balcony.
Stewart threatened her family, followed her with her dogs, and assaulted neighbors who tried to intervene, causing serious injuries.
His violent conduct culminated on August 23, 2020, when he unprovoked headbutted his partner and bit her wrist.
Stewart admitted to multiple charges including assault causing injury and disfigurement, as well as engaging in a course of conduct that was abusive.
He expressed remorse, with his legal defense highlighting his struggles with alcohol.
The court described his actions as a 'catalogue of violence and abuse' and deemed him a significant risk to partners and the public, sentencing him to 45 months in jail along with a five-year non-harassment order.
