October 2010 Child porn found after raid POLICE who raided a Kidderminster house found thousands of examples of child pornography on computer equipment, a court heard. Prosecutor Paul Whitfield said there were 3,778 images of an indecent nature involving children and many were in the most serious category. Examination of the computer tower showed that 25-year-old James Evans had been involved in chatrooms with seven other users and nearly 2,000 images had been distributed between October 2007 and June 2008. Evans, of Rifle Range Road, Foley Park, pleaded guilty at Worcester Crown Court to 11 counts of possessing and distributing indecent material. He was jailed for two years, ordered to sign the sex offenders register and disqualified for life from working with children. Mr Whitfield said Evans had a conviction in March this year when Kiderminster magistrates made a restraining order after he admitted a fixation with a young woman. Evans was cautioned in September last year for sending a package through the post with a note signed with his own blood. Marian Lewis, defending, said Evans suffered from a depressive illness linked with anxiety. Evans had been a victim of abuse and parental neglect in childhood and had been unable to form relationships. He had become isolated and had been living in squalor. But he had been helped by a great aunt living in Wales and intended to live with her. Miss Lewis submitted that Evans had not distributed the images for financial gain. He was now remorseful and embarrassed by his actions. Judge Michael Cullum, who viewed some of the images in closed court, said they were creating a market which encouraged the rape of children. Many of the images were shocking.
