JAMES DENHOLM'S SHOCKING ABUSE IN ABERDEEN: ELECTRICIAN'S 10-YEAR VOYEUR SCANDAL REVEALED
A disturbing case of voyeurism and invasive filming has come to light in Aberdeen, involving 34-year-old electrician James Denholm.Over a span of ten years, Denholm secretly installed hidden cameras within private residences, capturing women in intimate and vulnerable moments without their knowledge or consent.
His actions have left a trail of trauma and outrage among his victims, some of whom only discovered his invasive surveillance after finding concealed devices in their homes.
One woman, who was secretly filmed during an intimate act, described her feelings of shock and disgust when she learned of Denholm’s actions.
She expressed her horror to BBC Scotland News, emphasizing how disturbing it was that someone she trusted had invaded her privacy in such a manner.
The full extent of Denholm’s misconduct only became clear after law enforcement was alerted to a device found hidden beneath a victim’s bed, prompting a detailed investigation that uncovered a decade-long pattern of criminal behavior.
Denholm’s crimes took place across various addresses in Aberdeen, where he carried out his illicit activities both during and outside of his professional duties as an electrician.
He admitted to a total of 15 separate offences involving 17 different individuals.
Many of these offences fell under the Sexual Offences Scotland Act, reflecting the serious nature of his violations.
Some of the crimes were directly linked to his work, with police confirming that two charges were committed while he was performing electrical work at clients’ homes.
Others involved victims for whom he had previously provided services, exploiting his access and trust to carry out his invasive acts.
In addition to secretly filming women during private moments such as sex, showering, or using the toilet, Denholm also took photographs and videos from outside the homes of his victims.
He even recorded himself engaging in sexual acts with women without their knowledge, further compounding the severity of his offenses.
One particularly disturbing case involved a victim whose abuse spanned five years, during which Denholm took a sex doll and lingerie into her residence, dressing the doll in her clothing and photographing it.
His misconduct extended beyond filming, as he also took or facilitated the creation of indecent images or pseudo-photos of children between 2007 and 2012, adding a deeply troubling dimension to his criminal record.
Following his conviction, Denholm was sentenced to two years and eight months in prison.
He will also be subject to supervised release for an additional two years and six months.
His name has been formally added to the sex offenders register, ensuring ongoing monitoring of his activities and preventing further harm to the community in Aberdeen.
