ABERDEEN WOMAN PLACED ON SEX REGISTER FOR GROIN ASSAULT ON POLICE OFFICER
A woman known as Heather Worrall was involved in an incident while in custody at Kittybrewster police station concerning an unrelated matter.During her detention, she behaved in a sexually inappropriate manner by making purring noises towards a male police officer and then reaching out to grab his groin.
The incident occurred early in the morning, and Worrall had been warned about her conduct earlier for looking the officer up and down and purring at him.
However, she did not stop and later, while at the charge bar, she deliberately reached over and made contact with the officer's groin area, which shocked the officer and prompted him to restrain her.
Worrall pled guilty to sexually assaulting the officer by seizing his groin.
Her court appearance included a charge of sexual assault, and she was found to have a deliberate, sexual motive for her actions.
The court, presided over by Sheriff Graham Buchanan, ordered her to be supervised for six months and to be placed on the sex offenders register for the same period.
Worrall apologized, stating she was under the influence and didn't know what she was doing, claiming it was her first drink in a while and she would not drink again.
Her defense argued she was very drunk and under stress due to issues with her family and her health.
Despite the defense's attempt to seek an absolute discharge, the sheriff emphasized that her actions were completely unacceptable, citing the deliberate sexual nature of her conduct.
The court confirmed she would be placed on the sex offenders register, which is automatic in cases of sexual assault.
