January 2016 Pervert PE teacher had sex with Ayrshire schoolgirl A SHAMED teacher who took the virginity of one of his students after convincing her to lie to her parents so they could have secret trysts at school was jailed for the offence today – and slammed for his actions. Married PE teacher George Fisher was also placed on the Sex Offenders’ Register for 10 years for grooming the girl at the school where he worked after getting hold of her mobile number when she was just 12. The 32-year-old preyed on the 16-year-old girl while coaching her hockey at the North Ayrshire school and a separate hockey club. He got hold of the youngster’s mobile number when she was only a first year student and their relationship developed until they began having sex together last summer – when he took her virginity. Fisher convinced the girl to lie to her parents that she was going to school early for extra hockey training. But the now-17-year-old, who is in sixth Year and can’t be named for legal reasons, was actually going to have secret rendezvous with Fisher. He would let her into the school, via the fire exit, at 7.30am and their trysts would see them kissing and cuddling in the gym hall where he taught her. Over a five-month period they got closer and closer and Fisher, who had began signing his texts off with kisses, told the girl he loved her. He then ended up going to her home two or three times a week, over a six-week-period, where they had sex and performed sex acts on each other. The details emerged in December when Fisher appeared in the dock at Kilmarnock Sheriff Court to admit his guilt over the illicit relationship. He pleaded guilty to a single charge of repeatedly having sex with someone under the age of 18 – whilst in a position of trust towards them – between June and November 2016, in breach of Section 42 of the Sexual Offences (Scotland) Act 2009. At the time, Procurator Fiscal Depute Katie McColl said Fisher began teaching the girl when he started at the school in August 2015 but had known her for a number of years beforehand through his hockey coaching. And she said they became close after a school trip to watch a hockey game in May this year. The prosecutor explained: “The accused and the complainer have known each other since she was 12-years-old and have had each others’ mobile numbers since she was 12. “In May [2016] she texted him, thanking him for arranging the trip, and this began text communication between the parties. “At some point in mid-May the accused began ending his texts with kisses and the complainer began doing likewise. “In May this year the accused suggested she meet him at the school before 8am. “The complainer agreed to this and an arrangement was made between the parties. “The parties continued to text, more frequently, and arranged to meet again early in the morning at school. “These meetings developed to the parties kissing – what the complainer describes as ‘snogging each other’. “They met twice a week until the schools stopped for the summer holidays in June. “While the complainer was on holiday [abroad] the accused informed her he was in love with her. “The complainer informed the accused she loved him also. “When she returned from holiday it was arranged for the accused to attend at her home address, during the week, while her parents were out at work. “The accused attended the complainers house two to three times a week from July to the date when the schools resumed in August. “During these meetings the parties have engaged in sexual intercourse on a number of occasions. “I understand the parties discussed having sexual intercourse prior to doing so, the accused asked the complainer if she wanted to and asked if it would be her first time and she replied ‘yes’ to both questions.” Staff became suspicious of their relationship after the girl was spotted at school early in the morning and an investigation was launched, during which the girl lied for Fisher, saying she had been doing extra hockey training. But checks of the school’s CCTV system and where Fisher had used his security pass revealed the truth. The school informed the girl’s parents and one night, when she said she was going to a takeaway, her mum found her nearby in Fisher’s car. Her mum contacted police, Fisher was arrested, admitted his guilt during an interview before pleading guilty in court. Fisher was warned he faced jail for the breach of trust, sentence was deferred for background reports and he returned to the dock today to learn his fate. Defence solicitor Fraser Alexander said Fisher had been sacked as a result of the sexual abuse of the child. And he asked for leniency for his client, saying he was a first offender who was previously of good character and had also suffered as a result of the court case. He explained: “As a consequence of this he has been dismissed from his employment. “He hopes the combination of the fact that he has not been in trouble before and with the loss of his career that may be enough to persuade your lordship to refrain from imposing a custodial sentence. “If my Lord is persuaded to take a step back from custody and impose a Community Payback Order, he is unemployed, so could do the maximum hours of unpaid work.” Fisher, of Saltcoats, looked nervous throughout the court hearing and fidgeted with his hands as he sat in the dock. And his nervous demeanour changed to a look of terror as he was told there was no alternative sentence than to send him to jail. As he caged Fisher for eight months, reduced from 10 as he admitted his guilt, and placed him on the Sex Offenders’ Register until 2027, Sheriff Alistair Watson slammed him for his actions – and blasted him for trying to dupe social workers in to thinking his predatory behaviour was spontaneous. He said: “This was the sexual abuse of trust, committed towards one of the children in your charge, over a number of months, and on numerous occasions. “Despite claiming [to social workers] it was not planned, it was. “It was planned, criminal behaviour, carefully worked out in advance. “You were in a position of trust and you abused it for your own sexual gratification. “You’ve shown a very concerning lack of remorse and lack of contrition for what you’ve done and seem to minimise your behaviour. “I think teachers are in a unique position of trust. “Parents place trust in them to nurture and care for their children and trust them to protect their children.” Fisher turned to look at his wife and friends, who were in court, as he was led away in handcuffs to begin his jail term. A North Ayrshire Council spokesperson said: “We can confirm that, following an internal disciplinary process, Mr Fisher is no longer an employee of North Ayrshire Council.” December 2016 Teacher George Fisher had sex with a schoolgirl at her family home while her parents were at work. The PE instructor met the pupil for illicit sexual activity up to “three times a week”. Married Fisher, 32, even asked the youngster if she was a virgin before bedding her for the first time. Prosecutor Katie McColl said he went on to bed her for five months. She revealed at Kilmarnock Sheriff Court yesterday: “He told her he loved her and she said the same. “It was arranged he’d go to her house while her parents were away. “During the meetings, they had sex on a number of occasions. “He asked if she wanted to have sex and if it was her first time. She answered yes to both questions.” Seedy Fisher coached sports teams after joining the Ayrshire school staff in August 2015. He became close to the girl — who he knew since she was 12 — following a trip in May. She texted her thanks to him and they chatted via text and WhatsApp. Scheming Fisher told her to come to the gym hall early for extra sports coaching. He let her in through the fire exit before they hugged and kissed. Ms McColl said by the end of July, the relationship was sexual “two or three times a week” at her parents’ home before teachers became suspicious after the summer break. She went on: “The girl was spoken to by a guidance teacher and said she was having extra coaching. The next day, she was questioned by the guidance teacher and head of year. “The school carried out checks on CCTV and key fobs used by the accused. “She admitted they had met but nothing was going on. “She texted the accused and told him what she had said.” Fisher, of Saltcoats, was signed off at the end of September after North Ayrshire Council began an inquiry. Last month, the girl — now 17 — told her parents she was going to a takeaway but her mum found her in Fisher’s car nearby. She contacted the cops’ public protection unit who quizzed the girl. Ms McColl said: “The complainer admitted she was in a sexual relationship with the accused, she loved him and she knew he was married.” Fisher yesterday admitted breaching a position of trust, performing sex acts and having intercourse with the girl between June and last month. Lawyer Fraser Alexander said his disgraced client “fully expects” to lose his job. Sheriff Alistair Watson told Fisher to prepare for a prison sentence when he returns for sentencing next month. He said: “I give you fair warning, you may wish to put your affairs in order — it’s very likely you will receive a custodial sentence.” Fisher was put on the sex offenders’ register.
