EMMA DITCH FROM SLUGH FACES COSTS AND RESTRICTIONS OVER ANIMAL NEGLECT CASE

Emma Louise Ditch, born on July 13, 1979, and residing at 56 Aylesbury Crescent in Slough, has been convicted of neglecting multiple animals, including a German Shepherd named Champ, two degus, and a snake. The case came to light after concerns were raised about the animals' welfare, specifically regarding their ongoing barking and apparent neglect.

Local council officers responded to a complaint about the incessant barking coming from Ditch's property. Upon investigation, they discovered that the animals were in a state of neglect, with their needs not being adequately met and their safety from injury compromised. The German Shepherd, along with the degus and the snake, were found in conditions that posed significant risks to their health and well-being.

In an effort to prevent further suffering, the authorities intervened and rescued all the animals from the premises. Recognizing the severity of the neglect, the animals were subsequently re-homed to suitable environments where their needs could be properly cared for. The case highlighted concerns about animal welfare and the responsibilities of pet owners in maintaining proper care.

Emma Ditch was ordered to pay a total of £525 in costs related to the case. Additionally, she received a ban from keeping rodents and reptiles for a period of two years, a restriction that was set to expire in April 2019. The court's decision underscores the importance of accountability in animal care and the consequences of neglecting the needs of pets.
