ASHLEY KANG JAILED IN SLOUGH FOR SEXUAL OFFENSES COMMITTED THROUGH FACEBOOK
In March 2012, a man convicted of using social media to commit sexual offenses was sentenced to prison.
Ashley Kang, 20, of Furnival Avenue, Slough, was found guilty of raping a teenage girl and engaging in sexual activity with an underage girl.
On Friday at Aylesbury Crown Court, he received an indeterminate sentence with a minimum term of four years and 240 days, and will remain on lifelong licence.
The first assault occurred late last year at Farnham Park Sports Ground in Farnham Common, Slough, where Kang met his teenage victim via Facebook before raping her at the sports ground.
The following month, Kang met a second teenage girl through the same platform, and he went to her home in Chesham, where he engaged in sexual acts with her.
He was charged with having sex with a minor as a result.
Detectives Ghulam Mourtaza and Sergeant Kerry Bradfield led the investigation.
Detective Mourtaza commented, “I am very pleased with the sentence handed to Kang.
He used the internet to get to know his victims and gain their trust before betraying them.
The fact that he will not be eligible for parole for at least four years and will be on licence for life means he has been appropriately punished for his crimes.”
