KEITH PENSIONER ADMITTED TO SEX ASSAULT AND PUSHING WOMAN DOWN STAIRS IN ABERDEEN
A woman was found injured and distressed in a hotel stairwell after being sexually assaulted and physically attacked by Derrick Henderson, a 74-year-old pensioner from Keith.Henderson appeared in Aberdeen Sheriff Court and admitted to grabbing the woman’s private parts at the Station Hotel in Aberdeen before she fled their room in terror.
He then caught up with her in the hallway, where he punched her in the face and throttled her.
The woman managed to escape again and reached the stairway, but Henderson chased her and pushed her down a flight of stairs.
Hotel staff discovered her lying injured and shouting for help in her underwear.
The woman sustained bruising, a swollen forehead, and pain to her body.
Henderson pleaded guilty to sexually assaulting and assaulting the woman, as well as pushing her down the stairs.
The court heard that on June 28 last year, Henderson made unwanted advances, disregarding her pleas to stop and grabbing her private parts.
A struggle ensued, leading her to run from the room.
Henderson then chased her, physically assaulted her, and pushed her down the stairs.
The victim was found in the stairwell with injuries; she feared Henderson might return and waited there, calling for help.
The court has ordered Henderson to be placed on the sex offenders register and deferred sentencing for further reports.
