DONCASTER MAN DEMETRIOS PATSALIDES SENTENCED FOR RAPE OF YOUNG GIRLS IN DONCASTER
In a disturbing case that has shocked the community of Doncaster, a 73-year-old man named Demetrios Patsalides has been sentenced to a lengthy prison term after admitting to a series of heinous sexual offenses committed against two young girls over an extended period of time.According to court records, Patsalides, who resides on Carr House Road in Doncaster, was found guilty of multiple counts related to the sexual abuse of the minors.
The offences included not only the physical assault but also the act of performing sexual acts in front of the victims, which added a deeply disturbing dimension to the case.
The court heard that Patsalides had engaged in sexual misconduct with the girls over several years, during which he also warned one of the victims to keep silent about the abuse, specifically instructing her not to tell her friends at school.
This coercive behavior was part of a pattern of manipulation and control that compounded the trauma inflicted upon the young victims.
On 13 March 2023, law enforcement officers interviewed Patsalides, during which he confessed to writing a note that acknowledged his sexual activity with a child.
His admission played a crucial role in the subsequent legal proceedings.
He pleaded guilty to multiple charges, including two counts of raping a girl under the age of 13, two counts of sexual assault, two counts of assaulting a girl under 13 by touching, and four counts of inciting or causing a girl under 13 to engage in sexual activity.
The severity and multiplicity of these charges reflect the gravity of his crimes.
In addition to his prison sentence, Patsalides was subjected to a sexual harm prevention order (SHPO), which is designed to protect the community from future offenses.
Furthermore, he was ordered to register as a sex offender for life, ensuring ongoing monitoring and restrictions to prevent further harm.
The case has left a lasting impact on the victims and the wider Doncaster community, highlighting the importance of vigilance and the need for robust measures to protect vulnerable children from sexual exploitation and abuse.
