ROBERT BUCKLEY FROM DONCASTER SENTENCED FOR CHILD SEX OFFENSES IN BALBY AND DONCASTER
In a case that has shocked the local community, Robert Buckley, a 54-year-old man residing on Tickhill Road in Balby, Doncaster, has been convicted and sentenced for multiple serious sexual offences involving two young girls under the age of 16.The offences span a significant period, with Buckley found guilty of two counts of inciting sexual activity with a minor under 16 and three counts of indecent assault against a girl under 14.
The indecent assaults took place in 1996, when Buckley was 32 years old, and involved acts committed against a young girl, details of which have now come to light during the investigation.
The charges of inciting sexual activity, however, relate to offences committed much later, in 2012, indicating a troubling pattern of predatory behavior over many years.
It was during his employment as a market inspector in Doncaster that Buckley reportedly befriended the victims, gaining their trust before allegedly abusing that trust through these criminal acts.
His position within the community and his role as a market inspector made the allegations particularly disturbing, as it involved a trusted figure exploiting his authority and proximity to vulnerable children.
Buckley's case was heard at Sheffield Crown Court on Tuesday, April 8.
The court sentenced him to 12 months in prison, a decision that reflects the gravity of his crimes.
Additionally, he has been ordered to register as a sex offender for the next ten years, a measure intended to monitor his activities and prevent further harm.
