ABERDEEN MAN DAVID STEPHEN SENTENCED FOR INDECENT IMAGES IN ABERDEEN
In a recent case heard at Aberdeen Sheriff Court, David Stephen, a 47-year-old resident of Aberdeen, was found guilty of possessing indecent images on his computer.The court proceedings revealed that Stephen had previously admitted to the offense, which involved the creation, possession, or permission for the taking of indecent photographs or pseudo-photos of children.
These acts occurred over a period spanning from December 11, 2008, to July 31, 2010.
During the investigation, authorities discovered a total of 44 images stored on Stephen's hard drives.
The images were classified into different severity levels, with 21 categorized as level one, indicating the least severe, and four as level two.
A more serious set included 14 images at level three, three at level four, and two at the highest level, level five, which is considered the most severe and indicative of the most explicit content.
At the hearing, the court was informed that Stephen's address was listed as 91 Gray Street, Aberdeen.
The presiding sheriff, Graham Buchanan, sentenced Stephen to a three-year Community Payback Order.
This order requires him to undertake unpaid work as part of his rehabilitation and punishment.
Additionally, Sheriff Buchanan mandated that Stephen be registered on the sex offenders’ register, a measure aimed at monitoring his activities and ensuring public safety.
Furthermore, Stephen was ordered to participate in the Joint Sex Offender Project, a program designed to address and manage sexual offenders' behavior.
As part of his sentence, he is also required to complete 150 hours of unpaid work, emphasizing the court's focus on both punishment and rehabilitation in this case.
