ABERDEEN ROOFER DAVID MANN CAUGHT WITH CHILD PORNOGRAPHY IN SHOCKING CASE
In a disturbing case that has shocked the community of Aberdeen, a local roofer named David Mann was brought before the city’s sheriff court to face serious allegations related to child sexual exploitation and possession of indecent images.Mann, aged 32, was found to have engaged in the illegal downloading of a significant number of explicit materials involving minors, with authorities revealing that he had accessed and stored hundreds of illicit images and videos over a period spanning from October 2012 to June 2014.
According to court records, Mann’s offenses took place at multiple addresses within Aberdeen, including premises on Great Western Road, Cummings Park Crescent, and Thompson Street Lane.
His residence was identified as Flat C, 553 Great Western Road, where police executed a search warrant following a link established between his email account and a child pornography website.
The investigation was initiated after law enforcement officials traced his online activity, leading to his arrest.
During the search, officers seized several electronic devices, including Mann’s mobile phone, a Toshiba laptop, a pen drive, and an external hard drive.
A detailed forensic analysis of these devices uncovered a disturbing collection of digital material: a total of 828 indecent images and 65 videos, with the content amounting to over five hours of footage depicting minors aged between 13 and 17.
Among the material was a particularly heinous video involving an adult engaged in a sex act with a pig, which Mann had also downloaded.
It was revealed in court that Mann had been viewing these illegal images and videos even during his lunch breaks at work, often in the company of colleagues who reportedly found his behavior peculiar and considered him somewhat strange.
Despite this, Mann’s defense indicated that he had managed to overcome his addiction following the birth of his 18-month-old daughter, suggesting a potential turning point in his life.
Throughout the proceedings, Mann was visibly emotional, weeping in the dock as Sheriff William Summers delivered the sentence.
The sheriff ordered Mann to be placed under supervision for a period of three years, emphasizing the seriousness of his crimes.
Additionally, Mann was sentenced to complete 120 hours of unpaid community service within the next year and was placed on the sex offenders register for a duration of three years, marking a significant legal consequence for his actions and a reminder of the ongoing efforts to combat such heinous crimes in Aberdeen.
