February 2019 Paedophile viewed rape of boys and toddlers A businessman from Sale in Greater Manchester who joined an online paedophile ring to watch videos of young boys being raped has walked free after he claimed he had been ‘trying to get over a break-up’. David Bibby, 53, who was said to have a ‘disturbing sexual interest in children’ was tracked down following an investigation by the US department Homeland Security. Officials were looking into a child sexual abuse images racket operating on a conference call video facility involving sex offenders based in America Over a four month period between August and December in 2016, Bibby from Sale, Greater Manchester logged onto the file sharing application Zoom with the username ‘UKCockBoy’ with the intention of watching and downloading sex videos of children. He found a group which shared and distributed the images and and in which 25 perverts would look at the images at any one time. He sent a message to another member of the gang saying: ‘Somebody told me there were good videos on here.’ Bibby who was seen to be naked in one of his visits, viewed images of a boy being raped and a toddler being tied up and being subjected to an obscene act. He was arrested 11 months later in November 2017. At Minshull Street Crown Court, Bibby pleaded guilty to watching and downloaded indecent images of children. Prosecuting, Mark Kellet, said: ‘There was a total of 24 moving images, of which five were category B and 19 were category A. Among the moving images, it showed the anal and oral rape of numerous children under four. The offending happened over a period of four months between August 1 and December 21 2016. ‘This was investigation was undertaken by the Department of Homeland Security in the USA. From the outset, the investigation started in October 2015 and concluded in February 2017 and his offending was within a four month period in that time, and an examination of his Toshiba laptop shows no other offending. ‘But these are very serious and distressing images. In terms of that operation in the USA, it investigated a file sharing facility called Zoom ‘The legitimate use for this facility is video conferences and file sharing, but it has been used by paedophile groups. ‘The defendant deliberately went into a closed group, and the agency investigating this made it clear that this group is incredibly difficult to gain access to. The defendant logged in under the username of UKCockBoy and saw the anal rape of male boys and digital penetration of a child. He was present in the Zoom chat room with other people. ‘On another occasion, the defendant was visible and naked and he was watching a video of a toddler that was tied up. On the third occasion there was 25 people present looking at photographs of pre-pubescent males There was a child in another video, aged between four and six, being raped and there was a child, aged between nine and 12, being raped.’ Sentencing Bibby to a three year community order, Judge Maurice Greene said: ‘It’s quite clear that you accept and you are seeking help with that.’ Bibby – who is involved an electronics engineering company – was additionally given a five year Sexual Harm Prevention Order and ordered to complete 50 days of rehabilitation activities
