SALE WEST MAN COLIN GRAYSON SENTENCED TO SIX YEARS FOR SEXUAL ASSAULT ON 10-YEAR-OLD IN MANCHESTER

In March 2012, a man from Sale West was sentenced to six years in prison after being convicted of sexual offences involving a young girl. Colin Grayson, aged 38 and residing on Ascot Avenue, was sentenced at Manchester Minshull Street Crown Court following a prior conviction on eight charges of sexual assault. He was also mandated to register as a sex offender for life.

The offences took place between 2004 and 2006, during which Grayson sexually assaulted a 10-year-old girl at a residence in Sale. Detective Constable Nicola Graham of Trafford Public Protection Investigation Unit stated, “After several years of anguish the victim has today seen some justice done. She has tremendous courage reporting these incidents to the police and helping us with our investigations. I hope that she can now begin to put these awful experiences behind her and move forward with her life.”

She added, “We take all reports of sexual abuse and rape seriously no matter how long ago they happened, and if anyone is in the same position as these women, I want them to have confidence to come forward so we can deliver justice for them too.”
