March 2012 Sale West man jailed for sexually assaulting 10-year-old girl A SALE West man has been jailed for six years for sexual offences against a young girl. Colin Grayson, aged 38, of Ascot Avenue, was sentenced today at Manchester Minshull Street Crown Court after being found guilty of eight charges of sexual assault at an earlier hearing. He was also ordered to sign the sex offenders register for life. Between 2004 and 2006, Grayson sexually assaulted a 10-year-old girl at a Sale address. Detective Constable Nicola Graham, from Trafford Public Protection Investigation Unit, said, “After several years of anguish the victim has today seen some justice done. “She has tremendous courage reporting these incidents to the police and helping us with our investigations. “I hope that she can now begin to put these awful experiences behind her and move forward with her life. “We take all reports of sexual abuse and rape seriously no matter how long ago they happened and if anyone is in the same position as these women, I want them to have the confidence to come forward so we can have justice done for them too.” Anyone who has been a victim of rape or sexual assault can contact Greater Manchester Police on 0161 872 5050 or 999 in an emergency.
