DAVE FOX FROM NORTHAMPTON JAILED FOR GROOMING 11-YEAR-OLD GIRL IN SHOCKING CASE
In a disturbing case that has shocked the Northampton community, Dave Fox, a delivery driver from Montague Crescent, has been sentenced to prison for grooming an 11-year-old girl. The incident unfolded over a period of two months, during which Fox targeted the young girl after discovering her through videos she posted on YouTube.
He engaged in private messaging with her, initially claiming to be 14 years old, but as their communication progressed, he sent her explicit images and pressured her into webcam videos, demonstrating a clear pattern of predatory behavior.
Fox’s actions culminated in a disturbing encounter in February of the same year.
The girl, who was home from school, informed him that she was not in class that day.
Exploiting this opportunity, Fox arrived outside her residence in his work van and attempted to communicate with her through the vehicle’s window.
This brazen act of meeting a young girl in person after grooming her was a stark reminder of the danger posed by his actions.
Details of Fox’s criminal history revealed that this was not his first offense.
Northampton Crown Court heard that Fox had previously appeared in court for similar crimes.
In 2012, he was sentenced to two years in prison for a comparable case involving the online exploitation of an underage girl he found on YouTube.
This history underscores a troubling pattern of behavior and a persistent propensity for preying on young girls through the internet.
Her Honour Judge Adrienne Lucking addressed Fox directly during sentencing, condemning his actions and labeling him a sexual predator.
She emphasized his repeated attempts to contact and exploit young girls via online platforms, noting that his latest offense involved not only online grooming but also an in-person meeting with the victim.
The court was informed that Fox’s arrest was triggered when a staff member at the girl’s school overheard her discussing her interactions with him.
The girl had messaged Fox, warning him that others knew about their conversations.
His response, “I’m dead.
What do people know?” indicated his awareness of the potential exposure and his continued engagement in the harmful behavior.
Subsequently, the girl identified Fox in a police lineup, leading to his arrest.
Authorities also searched his residence, where they discovered handwritten notes and prompts near his computer.
These materials appeared to be designed to guide his grooming efforts and manipulate his victim.
Judge Lucking described Fox as a high-risk offender, highlighting the likelihood of him reoffending if given the opportunity.
As a result, she sentenced him to an extended term of four and a half years in prison.
Upon release, Fox will face a further three years on extended license, and he will remain on the sex offenders register for life, ensuring ongoing monitoring of his activities and preventing further harm to potential victims.
