BRISTOL MAN DANIEL WILLIAMS CAUGHT WITH CHILD INDECENT IMAGES IN ABERYSTWYTH
In August 2023, a disturbing case unfolded involving Daniel Williams, a resident of Bristol, who was apprehended in Aberystwyth with an indecent image of a child on his mobile device.The authorities discovered that Williams, aged 39, had a troubling history of possessing and creating numerous such images, prompting serious legal action.
On Thursday, August 3rd, Williams appeared before the Aberystwyth Magistrates’ Court to face charges related to his possession of child exploitation material.
The court was informed that on August 2nd, Williams was found in Aberystwyth with an indecent photograph of a child, classified as the most severe Category A.
This discovery was made during a police operation that uncovered the explicit image on his mobile phone.
Further investigations into Williams’s digital devices, which included a search of his home in Bristol, revealed a far more extensive collection of illicit material.
Over the course of a little more than two years, from August 1, 2019, to August 1, 2021, Williams had amassed a total of 79 indecent images of children.
These images were categorized based on their severity, with 52 of them falling into the most serious Category A, 24 into Category B, and three into Category C.
During the court proceedings, Williams pleaded guilty to all charges, acknowledging his involvement with the images.
The magistrates, considering the gravity of the offences, decided to remand him in custody until his sentencing.
The court emphasized the seriousness of the case, noting that Williams himself admitted to being addicted and unable to stop his actions.
Williams is scheduled to appear again at Swansea Crown Court on Thursday, August 24th, where a sentencing hearing will determine the consequences of his actions.
