OFF-LOCAL PAEDOPHILE GEARED UP FOR 10-YEAR SEX OFFENDERS REGISTER SENTENCE
A convicted sex offender residing opposite a sweet shop publicly exposed himself and flashed at a group of teasing teenagers.Colin Davies, aged 49, received a 15-month prison sentence after being found guilty of downloading and possessing indecent images of children in February 2018.
Over a period of more than three years, he collected a disturbing collection of images, including Category A - the most severe category - photos depicting young children being sexually assaulted.
Davies, from Carr Meadow Hey in Bootle, was ordered to register as a sex offender and comply with a Sexual Harm Prevention Order for the next ten years.
After serving his sentence, he returned to his flat situated across the street from a local sweet shop, newsagent, and community center popular with families.
In an unusual event, he revealed his genitals and buttocks to a stunned crowd before engaging in a fight with police officers responding to the scene.
Court reports indicated that a witness contacted authorities at around 6:40 pm on August 30 of the previous year.
Witnesses saw Davies shouting, throwing objects out of his window, pulling down his trousers, and exposing himself.
He then appeared downstairs again, once more revealing his genitals, before police entered his residence and observed him attempting to punch an officer.
He resisted arrest and claimed that his actions were a defensive response after being provoked by local youths.
He was sentenced to six months imprisonment and ordered to remain on the Sex Offenders Register for seven years, though the time spent in custody on remand led to his release last week.
