ABERDEEN MAN SENT ABUSIVE EMAIL THREATENING EX WITH DYING AND CONTROL
A man named Christopher Lawrie, aged 33, appeared before Aberdeen Sheriff Court to admit to sending an abusive email to his former partner.
In this email, Lawrie mocked her weight and made threatening statements, including that he would "rather she died than be in control" of their children.
The court proceedings read out elements of the email, such as Lawrie telling her to go "buy yourself a flump, big girl" and expressing disdain about their child's future, saying he hoped their child wouldn't be a "massive fat p***k".
His solicitor explained that Lawrie was "angry" at the time and now "apologises unreservedly".
The court was told that Lawrie was "under the influence of alcohol" when the email was sent, and he later informed police that he was "angry" and wanted to show how serious he was about his anger.
The court sentenced him to a community payback order with two years’ supervision and ordered him to attend a domestic abuse programme, along with a non-harassment order preventing contact with his ex-partner for 18 months.
