CARL HUXLEY SENTENCED TO NEARLY FIVE YEARS IN PRISON IN LINCOLNSHIRE FOR GROOMING AND SEXUAL OFFENSES

A 38-year-old man, Carl Huxley, has been sentenced to four years and 10 months in prison after grooming a child and posing as a young boy on social media in 2023. Huxley arranged to meet his victim in Gainsborough, Lincolnshire, following a series of sexually explicit messages. He is from Holgate Mount, Ward Green, Barnsley.

Huxley was convicted of meeting a child under 16 for sexual purposes and of engaging in sexual communication with a minor. The sentencing took place at Lincoln Crown Court on Friday.

According to reports, Huxley met the victim in Gainsborough and then traveled to Lincoln, where he bought gifts for the young person throughout the day. He had also arranged to stay in a double hotel room with the victim, but police were alerted before the room could be used.

Detective Constable Jones of Lincolnshire Police, who handled the case, described Huxley's actions as "calculated, intentional and manipulative." She emphasized, "This is wholly unacceptable and wildly inappropriate, showing a complete disregard for his victim's age and wellbeing, for his own sexual gratification. This will not be tolerated in Lincolnshire and this sentence sends a strong message to any would-be criminals that they will be caught and dealt with."
