DAVID HONEYBALL FROM GAINESBOROUGH FACES JAIL OVER CHILD PORNOGRAPHY DISCOVERY

In a serious case that has shocked the community of Gainsborough, 56-year-old David Honeyball is now facing the possibility of imprisonment after authorities uncovered a disturbing collection of indecent images involving children on his personal computer. The incident came to light during a police search conducted at his residence on Turpin Close on the 24th of May.

Prosecutor Andrew Scott outlined the details in court, revealing that the majority of the illicit images were located within the recycling bin of Honeyball’s computer system. Additionally, investigators discovered a file sharing application installed on the device, raising concerns about the potential for distribution of such material. The court was informed that chat logs retrieved from the computer indicated Honeyball’s willingness and apparent capability to share these images with others. However, it was emphasized that there was no concrete evidence to confirm that any sharing had actually taken place.

When questioned about his activities during his arrest, Honeyball claimed, “I’ve only been on it for about a month.” He acknowledged his awareness of the file sharing system but insisted that his involvement was limited to viewing the images once, with the intent of passing them on to the sex offenders unit at Lincolnshire Police. This statement was part of his attempt to explain his actions and minimize his involvement.

The court proceedings also brought to light Honeyball’s troubling criminal history. It was revealed that he had previously served a three-year prison sentence at Snaresbrook Crown Court in 2000 for an indecent assault committed against a young child. Furthermore, he had been sentenced to an additional four years for other historic sex offences, underscoring a pattern of disturbing behavior.

Honeyball faced multiple charges, including five counts of making and possessing indecent images of children, as well as a charge of intending to distribute such material. The case was adjourned, with Judge Michael Heath remanding Honeyball into custody until his sentencing hearing scheduled for September. The case continues to draw attention due to the severity of the allegations and the potential consequences for the accused.
