ABERDEEN SEX OFFENDER BRIAN MORRISON SENTENCED TO SEVEN YEARS FOR ABUSE AT BEACH LEISURE CENTRE AND MORE
In a significant case that has drawn widespread attention in Aberdeen, a man named Brian Morrison has been sentenced to seven years in prison following his conviction for multiple counts of sexual abuse involving young girls.The sentencing took place at the High Court in Aberdeen, where the court heard detailed accounts of Morrison’s offending history and the impact on his victims.
Police officials expressed their gratitude to the brave victims who came forward to share their experiences, acknowledging the courage it took to confront their abuser and seek justice.
The court proceedings revealed that Morrison, aged 55, had committed these heinous acts at various locations across the North-east region, including the Beach Leisure Centre and the Beach Promenade, as well as at private residences in Aberdeen.
The trial concluded with Morrison being found guilty of multiple charges related to sexual assault and abuse.
The court established that Morrison had sexually assaulted one girl on several occasions at two different houses in Aberdeen, as well as at the Beach Leisure Centre and along the Beach Promenade, between May 2001 and January 2005.
These incidents spanned over a period of nearly four years, highlighting a disturbing pattern of predatory behavior.
Furthermore, Morrison was convicted of attempting to rape another girl at a residence in Aberdeen on January 8, 2005.
The court also found him guilty of sexually assaulting yet another girl at a different house in Aberdeen during a period between January 2012 and January 2013.
Despite the overwhelming evidence and the convictions, Morrison maintained his innocence, denying all charges brought against him.
During the sentencing, Lady Stacey, the presiding judge, addressed Morrison directly, noting that his first known offence occurred three decades ago.
She emphasized that his criminal conduct appeared to be part of an established pattern, which had caused significant harm to his victims.
As part of his punishment, Morrison was ordered to be placed on the sex offenders’ register and will be subject to community monitoring for three years following his release from prison.
Morrison’s address was recorded as Deveron Road, Aberdeen, during the court proceedings.
