ABERDEEN MAN FINED AFTER BIZARRE PUBLIC INDECENCY INCIDENT
A man named Ben Keavey, aged 44, was involved in a bizarre and deeply distressing incident where he exposed himself to a shop worker and performed a sex act in front of another female employee at a Spar store located on Greenfern Road in Aberdeen.Keavey had been at a party the previous evening and continued drinking into the early morning.
Around 8am, he arrived at the store in search of more alcohol but was told it was closed.
He soon returned and, in an inexplicable act, exposed himself in front of the shop window.
A female worker observed his behaviour and alerted a colleague.
The act was captured on CCTV, leading to his quick identification and arrest by police.
Keavey admitted he was very intoxicated and has no recollection of the incident, which took place on May 2.
He pleaded guilty to a charge of intentionally exposing himself in a sexual manner.
During court proceedings, the prosecutor detailed that Keavey was seen standing in the doorway with his trousers open, banging his hands on the window, and later standing outside with his trousers open after being warned to leave.
His behavior was described as 'enormously unpleasant' and 'enormous distressing' for witnesses.
Keavey, who works as a roofer, expressed remorse and embarrassment, claiming he was highly intoxicated and had no memory of his actions.
The sheriff acknowledged the incident's unpleasantness and fined Keavey £600.
The court concluded that his conduct was caused by alcohol and was considered inexplicable, but he was not deemed at risk of further sexual offenses.
