ANDREW SMITH FROM GLASGOW JAILED FOR SEXUAL OFFENCES INVOLVING MINORS
In March 2019, a man from Glasgow named Andrew Smith was convicted after being caught by a paedophile hunting team.Smith believed he was communicating with a young girl and thought he was grooming her for sex.
He appeared in Glasgow Crown Court, where he admitted to engaging in sexual communication with a child, among other offences.
During online interactions, Smith contacted an account he thought belonged to a schoolgirl.
He immediately sent sexually explicit messages and claimed to be in a sexual relationship with his 15-year-old stepdaughter.
He also described a sexual act involving her wearing her school uniform.
It was later revealed that these claims were fabricated fantasies.
Smith was arrested on May 24, 2018.
He was sentenced to seven months in prison and was ordered to register as a sex offender for ten years.
