ABERDEEN MAN SENTENCED FOR VILE HARASSMENT AND COVID-19 TAUNTS
Andrew Gordon, aged 39, faced court over a series of abusive emails sent to his former partner between April 24, 2020, and September 5, 2021.
During this period, he repeatedly bombarded her with messages filled with offensive language and hostile remarks, including expressions of hatred and wishes for her to catch and die from Covid-19.
One email from June contained explicit swear words and stated: “I hope you get the virus and it kills you.
P*** off and die.
I wish you were dead.
I absolutely hate your guts.” The emails persisted in a similar, abusive tone.
Gordon, from Colthill Circle, Milltimber, admitted to a domestically aggravated charge of sending grossly offensive or menacing messages via these emails.
Court transcripts describe the content as “shocking,” “deplorable,” and “designed to upset” his ex-partner.
The sheriff sentenced Gordon to 12 months of supervision, imposed 180 hours of unpaid work, and issued a five-year non-harassment order banning him from contacting the woman.
The court acknowledged the severe distress caused by his actions and emphasized the seriousness of the behavior.
