Alan Donnelly, an Aberdeen councillor who was convicted of sexual assault, has withdrawn his plans to seek re-election in May.
Last February, Donnelly had pledged in a television interview that he would fight to retain his seats representing Torry and Ferryhill.
However, following his conviction, he has decided not to pursue re-election, marking a change from his previous commitment.
