ABERDEEN PAEDOPHILE AARON MCINTYRE CAUGHT IN DISTURBING ONLINE PREDATION SCHEME
In August 2020, a disturbing case of online predation unfolded involving Aaron McIntyre, a 39-year-old man from Aberdeen.McIntyre was caught engaging in conversations with what he believed was a 15-year-old girl, but in reality, he was communicating with a paedophile hunter group operating a fake Facebook account named Kasey-Anne.
This account was created by an adult member of the group specifically to lure individuals like McIntyre into revealing their intentions.
According to court reports, McIntyre initiated contact by sending a friend request to the fake profile.
Once accepted, he immediately began messaging the account, which he believed belonged to a young girl.
The messages quickly turned inappropriate as he repeatedly asked the girl about her sleeping habits, inquiring whether she preferred to sleep in silk pyjamas or naked.
He further pressed her about her current attire, asking if she was wearing pyjamas, underwear, or nothing at all.
The conversation took a more sinister turn as McIntyre encouraged the girl to meet him in person, suggesting that their meeting would be kept secret.
He also made explicit sexual remarks, describing graphic fantasies he wished to carry out with her.
Throughout the exchanges, he persistently asked whether she would sleep with him despite the obvious age difference, and whether she was available during the day for a potential meeting.
McIntyre’s messages grew increasingly sexualized, with him telling the girl, “you’re so hot,” “you’re turning me on,” and expressing regret over his own thoughts.
He also asked her to send indecent images, further demonstrating his intent to exploit the situation for sexual gratification.
Legal proceedings at Aberdeen Sheriff Court revealed these details, with the prosecution highlighting McIntyre’s repeated attempts to induce a minor into meeting him and to send sexually explicit material.
The court was told that McIntyre’s actions were part of a pattern of predatory behavior, with the defendant pleading guilty to charges of messaging what he believed to be a child, making sexually explicit remarks, and attempting to persuade the girl to meet him and send indecent images.
Sheriff Donald Ferguson, presiding over the case, deferred sentencing to allow for a criminal justice social work report and a restriction of liberty assessment.
In addition, McIntyre was placed on the sex offenders register, marking a significant step in addressing his offending behavior.
The case underscores the ongoing dangers posed by online predators and the importance of vigilant law enforcement efforts to protect vulnerable individuals from exploitation.
