August 2012 Peeping pensioner filmed girls in shower A PEEPING pensioner rigged up a hidden camera in his bathroom to film two 16-year-old visitors as they took showers before going to a Christmas party. Victor Morgan, 71, is facing jail despite his claim he set up the camcorder because he was worried about the two girls stealing his soap, Exeter Crown Court heard. He recorded a 13-minute clip which started of his own arm putting the camera in place on a shelf which overlooked the shower and bath in the corner of the room. He knew the two guests were about to take a wash because they asked his permission before going into the bathroom, a court was told. Mr Richard Crabb, prosecuting, said Morgan filmed the girls, both 16 at the time, when they were staying at his house before going to a Christmas party in December 2010. He said: “He filmed them both separately, they were not together in any way, as they had showers in his bathroom. He used a camera that was concealed among some toiletries on a shelf. “It is not at issue that neither girl knew they were being filmed. They had asked permission before taking the showers and used it before going out. They had no idea there was a camera in the bathroom.” The court heard police found a 13-minute long video which showed both girls naked in the bathroom at his home in Paignton, Devon. Mr Crabb said: “He said he had done it because he wanted to make sure his guests were not stealing toiletries. He said there was no sexual motive whatsoever. “There is no doubt the girls did not consent to being filmed or that they had been doing a private act in a locked bathroom. He has been caught red-handed. “Just because someone may be nicking the soap, even if they had done, is no justification for setting up a hidden camera, filming them naked, storing the file on the computer, and viewing it at a later date. “If he was interested in toiletries, why not film the toiletries? Why film the shower and why not delete it? “You can be sure there was one thing on his mind when he made and viewed that movie, and it wasn’t soap.” Mr Crabb told the jury that Morgan has already admitted other offences involving images of a 15-year-old girl involved in sexual activity. Morgan denied two counts of voyeurism but was convicted after a trial, he was bailed for reports ahead of sentencing.
