RIKKI POYSER SENTENCED FOR CHILD SEX OFFENCES IN DERBYSHIRE
A man from Derbyshire who was found to be a predatory paedophile, associated with disturbing online activity involving children, has been sentenced to 17.5 years in prison.Rikki Poyser, who was wearing a nappy and sucking on a dummy in an image he sent to what he believed was a teenage boy, was convicted at Derby Crown Court of serious sexual offences.
Poyser, aged 33, operated under the pseudonym "Steve Turner" and exchanged images of young boys engaged in sexual activities with adults with a fellow online predator called "Daddy Boy." Among these images was one showing a two-year-old child being raped, which Poyser commented on with the words "I wish," as revealed by prosecutors.
Recorder Jason Macadam stated, "This is an appalling case that there is no doubt about.
The victim was particularly vulnerable because of his extreme youth and background.
You are demonstrably capable of manipulation and you pose a high risk to children.
I do consider you pose a significant risk of harm to members of the public.
You are a manipulative and predatory paedophile." Prosecutor James Varley explained that police traced an internet address linked to Poyser in October 2020, which was sharing horrific child abuse images with an online contact called "Daddy Boy." Devices were seized during his arrest, but Poyser refused to provide the passcodes to access his iPhone.
The National Crime Agency also arrested "Daddy Boy," leading to the discovery that Poyser and his online contact had exchanged images, movies, and explicit conversations about child abuse.
It was further established that Poyser had raped a young boy, in what the court described as a planned assault.
During police questioning, Poyser remained silent, replying with "no comment." Evidence showed that in his chats with "Daddy Boy," the two men discussed extreme forms of child abuse.
Police also found that Poyser had used the dating app Grindr to contact a police decoy posing as a 15-year-old boy.
He was attracted to the age but was aware he was communicating with a decoy.
Poyser disclosed that he was interested in 'adult baby diaper love' (ABDL), and there were pictures of him wearing an adult nappy and sucking a dummy.
Nappies were later recovered from his car.
He admitted to multiple charges, including raping a child under 13, distributing and making indecent images of children, and attempting to engage a child in sexual communication.
Poyser has no prior convictions.
His barrister, Nicola Hunter, stated that since his remand last summer, Poyser had been participating in one-to-one sessions aimed at addressing his behaviour.
She noted, "He accepts he buried his head in the sand, he has done all sorts of soul-searching, and he recognises he has a long way to go.
He's willing to engage and wants to be better equipped for when he's released from custody." The total sentence comprises 13.5 years in prison with an additional four-year extension, meaning Poyser will not be eligible for parole until two-thirds of this period has passed.
Additionally, he will remain on the sex offender register for life and was granted a lifetime sexual harm prevention order.
