December 2005 Jail term for man who photographed sex acts with 15-year-old on his phone A 28-YEAR-OLD man who had sex with a 15-year-old Leamington girl and photographed some of their acts on his phone has been jailed for three years.  Warwick Crown Court heard that Rick Ankin, from Basildon, Essex, met the teenager through an internet chat room.  Ankin also admitted two further charges of sexual activity with two other 15-year-olds, also from Leamington, who he had met through the girl.  Michael Burrows, prosecuting, said Ankin came into contact with the first girl, when she was 14.  They began a long distance relationship and although Ankin was aware of the girl’s age, they had intercourse when they met just after her 15th birthday.  After that, he visited the girl in Leamington on a number of occasions and during his visits he met the other teenagers.  One told police that Ankin failed to persuade her to take part in a “threesome” with the first girl, after sending her an e-mail.  He was caught after her mother read an e-mail describing sexual contact with a man called Rick.  Nick Devine, defending, said the relationship had started perfectly innocently through the chat room.  He added: “It was she who introduced the other two girls into the situation. Again that is something he bitterly regrets.”  Ordering Ankin to register for life as a sex offender and banning him from having contact with any child aged under 18, Judge Richard Cole said: “These are serious charges, and have to be treated as such. The only possible sentence is imprisonment.”
