October 2012 Pervert admits exposing himself to schoolgirls A PERVERT has admitted repeatedly exposing himself to 11 and 12-year-old girls on their way to school. Lee Owen, 31, said he “felt really bad” after showing to his genitals to girls in school uniform on a series of occasions. The incidents happened in the Felmores area and left at least one of his victims badly shaken. But luckily one of the victims was clever enough to take down his car registratration number and give it to her grandmother. Through this, the police managed to track Owen down and he admitted to all the other crimes. Owen, of Wood Green, Basildon appeared before Southend Magistrates Court where he pleaded guilty to three charges of exposing himself in public with the intention someone would see him. Suzanne Stringer, prosecuting, said: “He made full admissions to these offences and at least ten others over this period of time where police haven’t been able to trace specific victims, which is why we’ve only charged with three particular offences.” He told police he had been extremeley stressed and had been having problems with his partner sexually. He added: “After I’ve done it I really feel bad.” The incidents happened in Craylands, Northlands Park, and the underpass off Rectory Road. Miss Stringer said: “There are concerns for public safety but also Mr Owen’s safety if released back into the local community.” She said the crown could be seeking a Sexual Offences Prevention Order to try and prevent him committing similar offences. Miss Cole, mitigating, who refused to give her full name, said: “He doesn’t know why he committed thes offences, he’s not trying to excuse his behaviour or justify what he did.” Owen was remanded in custody to be sentenced at Basildon Crown Court in the week commencing November 12.
