MAIDSTONE MAN PETER FUTYMED JAILED FOR CHILD INDECENT IMAGES IN KENT
In a disturbing case that has shocked the community of Maidstone, Kent, a local man named Peter Futymed, aged 51, has been sentenced to prison after authorities uncovered a significant collection of indecent images of children stored on his personal devices. The investigation revealed that Futymed possessed a total of 638 such images, with 144 classified as the most serious Category A, indicating the most severe level of criminal content.
Futymed’s arrest took place on February 25, 2016, when police officers executed a search warrant at his residence located in Kingfisher Meadow, Maidstone.
The raid was prompted by suspicions regarding his possession of illegal material, which was confirmed through a forensic examination of his computer and CDs.
The digital devices contained a disturbing hoard of images that depicted children in explicit and abusive situations, causing significant concern among law enforcement officials and the local community.
During police interviews, Futymed admitted to possessing the indecent images and further revealed that he actively searched for such material on the internet.
He confessed that he found the images titillating, which underscores the disturbing nature of his actions and the premeditated intent behind his online searches.
His admission led to multiple charges, including three counts of making indecent photographs of a child and four counts of possessing such images.
Futymed appeared before Maidstone Crown Court on Thursday, February 9, where he pleaded guilty to all charges.
The court subsequently sentenced him to 16 months in prison, a decision that reflects the seriousness of his offenses and the harm caused to the victims depicted in the images.
Detective Constable Jon Baker, involved in the case, commented on the sentencing, stating, “Futymed has tried to excuse his actions by blaming them on issues in his private life.
This is unacceptable when one considers the pain and trauma suffered by the victims in the images.
Futymed should reflect on his conduct whilst in prison.” The case serves as a stark reminder of the ongoing efforts by law enforcement to combat child exploitation and the importance of holding offenders accountable for their actions in the community of Maidstone and beyond.
