NATHAN JORDAN'S SHOCKING CRIMES IN CORK, JERSEY, AND LEICESTER: SEX OFFENDER ON THE RUN FOR YEARS

In a case that has spanned several years and multiple locations, Nathan Jordan, a man with a disturbing criminal history, has been finally brought to justice. The 33-year-old, originally from Leicester, was involved in a series of heinous crimes that took place across Cork, Jersey, and Leicester, revealing a pattern of sexual offenses and possession of indecent images of children.

Jordan’s criminal activities first came to light in August 2012, when he was arrested in connection with an attack on one victim. During this initial investigation, authorities seized his laptop for analysis. Despite being interviewed again on August 29 of that year, Jordan fled to Cork, Ireland, just four days later. He resigned from his job abruptly, citing concerns for his safety and the safety of loved ones, and left the UK. His departure marked the beginning of a long period during which he remained at large, evading law enforcement agencies in both Ireland and the UK.

It was not until February 15, 2018, that Jordan was finally apprehended at Stansted Airport after boarding a flight. His arrest was the culmination of a complex and extensive investigation involving high-tech crime detectives. During the investigation, authorities uncovered disturbing evidence, including four indecent images of children on his laptop. These images depicted infants aged between three and eight being sexually abused and raped by adult men. However, due to advanced encryption software protecting the device with a passcode that Jordan refused to disclose, only partial analysis of the laptop was possible. Prosecutors argued that the images were likely just a small part of a larger collection of illicit material stored behind encrypted areas.

Further investigations revealed that Jordan had conducted internet searches related to the sexual abuse, torture, and humiliation of children. Police also discovered that he had accessed the dark web via the TOR portal, a network known for hosting illegal activities, terrorist content, and indecent images. These findings painted a disturbing picture of Jordan’s online activities and his involvement in the possession and distribution of child exploitation material.

Jordan, who is married, admitted to multiple charges, including one count of making indecent images of children, two counts of indecent assault, and one count of perverting the course of justice. As part of his sentencing, he was ordered to register as a sex offender for ten years. A psychologist described him as a ‘complex man’ who currently poses a ‘high risk in the community,’ highlighting the potential danger he represents.

During the court proceedings, it was revealed that Jordan, who claims to be a journalist, had also forced two women to perform sexual acts on him on separate occasions. In one incident, he threatened to harm the victim if she did not comply. Victims’ statements read aloud in court detailed the severe psychological impact of their experiences, with both women suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder, flashbacks, and nightmares.

Acting Inspector Cathy Davison, head of the Public Protection Unit of the States police, described Jordan as ‘controlling and coercive,’ emphasizing the long and arduous nature of the investigation. She expressed hope that the sentence would serve as a measure of justice for the victims and aid in their recovery process.

Jordan’s criminal history also includes a breach of his sex offender restrictions. In May 2018, he was found guilty of possessing over 45,000 indecent images of children, including 103 at the most serious level. These images were stored on various devices, including a PlayStation 4 console. His previous restrictions, imposed by the Royal Court in 2012, were violated when he failed to hand over a device containing thousands of illicit images and used software to conceal his online activity. He was remanded in custody and scheduled for sentencing on July 23, 2018.

In a related case, another individual, Jeremy Thomas Bourke, also appeared before the Royal Court for breaching his sex offender restrictions by making thousands of indecent images of children. The court heard that Bourke, aged 42, had created 45,787 images between July 2011 and September 2017, some at the most severe level. These images were stored on multiple devices, including a PlayStation 4. He pleaded guilty to all charges and was remanded in custody, with sentencing scheduled for July 23, 2018. The court also acknowledged the ongoing risk posed by these offenders and the importance of strict enforcement of restrictions to protect the community.
