KENNETH CONDON FROM LEICESTER JAILED FOR CHILD PORNOGRAPHY AND EXTREME MATERIALS
In a serious case that has shocked the Leicester community, Kenneth Condon, a medical student residing in Leicester, was sentenced to a 12-month prison term after being found guilty of possessing and downloading a significant amount of indecent images of children.The conviction followed a police investigation that uncovered disturbing material stored on his electronic devices.
On December 23, 2010, law enforcement officers executed a search warrant at Condon's residence located on Avenue Road Extension in the Clarendon Park area of Leicester.
The operation was initiated after authorities linked his email address to a child pornography website, prompting a thorough investigation.
During the raid, officers seized three laptops, which were subsequently examined for illicit content.
Prosecutor Victoria Rose detailed the extent of the material found, revealing that Condon, aged 34 and living on Aylestone Road in Leicester, had downloaded a vast array of indecent images.
These included 414 images and videos classified at the lowest level of severity, as well as 88 at level two, 171 at level three, 240 at level four, and 19 at the most serious level five.
The images predominantly depicted children aged 13 or younger, highlighting the disturbing nature of his offenses.
In addition to the child exploitation material, Condon also admitted to possessing extreme pornography involving adults and animals, including bestiality.
The court heard that he had no prior criminal record but had voluntarily sought counseling for sexual addiction, indicating some level of awareness and remorse.
During sentencing at Leicester Crown Court, Judge Michael Pert emphasized the gravity of the crimes, stating, “Prison may not be the best solution for you, but it’s the proper solution for offending on this scale.
People shouldn’t think they can watch this sort of material and all that will happen is they’ll attend a community program once a week.
These are the sort of images that would disgust most people.” As part of his punishment, Condon was subjected to a 10-year sexual offences prevention order, which imposes strict restrictions and monitoring of his future computer use.
He is also prohibited from contacting any female under the age of 16 via the internet or working with children in any capacity, aiming to prevent any further harm or offending behavior in the future.
