MARTIN MOORE'S HORRIFIC CRIMES IN KIDDERMINSTER AND BRINTON PARK REVEALED

In a case that has shocked the community of Kidderminster, a man named Martin Moore, aged 48, has been sentenced to a lengthy prison term of 12 years after being convicted of heinous sexual offenses committed over two decades ago. The crimes involved the assault and rape of two young schoolgirls, who at the time of the attacks were between 12 and 14 years old. These victims, burdened by the trauma, chose to keep their suffering secret for many years, only coming forward to authorities last year, which ultimately led to Moore's conviction.

Judge Andrew Geddes addressed the court and condemned Moore’s actions as “outrageous” offenses against vulnerable children. The judge emphasized that no child could escape the profound psychological scars inflicted by such acts of molestation, highlighting the lasting impact on the victims’ mental health and well-being.

Martin Moore, who resides on Broome Crescent in Kidderminster, was found guilty by a jury in March of four counts of rape and one count of indecency with a child. As part of his sentence, he was ordered to sign the sex offenders’ register for life, ensuring ongoing monitoring of his activities.

During the trial, the court was informed under new rules of evidence that Moore had also committed a separate sexual assault in 1979, raping a 17-year-old girl in Brinton Park, Kidderminster. Despite this earlier offense, Moore had only served a 12-month jail sentence for that incident. Prosecutor Peter Arnold described Moore as having “a propensity for rape,” and detailed the series of attacks he committed on the two schoolgirls when he was aged between 15 and 24.

One particularly disturbing account involved a girl walking home from a Mod disco in Stourport. Moore reportedly dragged her to the ground on a pathway, ripped her dress, and raped her. The court heard that Moore denied the allegations, claiming that the accusations were fabricated in an attempt to secure compensation. He also claimed that he was “fitted up” for the park rape, suggesting he believed he was wrongly accused of that offense.

Moore’s defense attorney, Paul Farrer, argued that his client had been a hardworking man until he suffered a serious assault that left him claiming incapacity benefit. Farrer added that Moore had been married for three years and that his wife intended to stand by him until his release from prison. The defense also highlighted that Moore had maintained a clean record for the past ten years and insisted that he was “a very different man” from the one who committed these crimes over twenty years ago.

Despite these claims, the court’s verdict confirmed the severity of Moore’s offenses, and the community remains deeply affected by the revelations of his past actions in Kidderminster and Brinton Park.
