Sentenced to Just 12 months at Warwick Crown Court in August 1999 May 1999 Man faces jail on child sex charges A LEAMINGTON man could be facing a jail sentence after admitting a sex attack on an eight-year-old boy and making indecent videos of two young girls.  Mark Edward Rowley, aged 21, of Lillington Road, yesterday pleaded guilty to indecent assault and two charges of taking indecent pictures of children. Magistrates at Leamington committed him for sentence at Warwick Crown Court after deciding their own sentencing powers were insufficient.  The court heard that Rowley warned the boy not to tell anyone following the sex attack in the summer of 1997.  He also took indecent video footage of his young victim’s ten-year-old sister, and later of an eight-year-old girl he approached in a Leamington playground.He enticed her to go with him under the pretence of showing her his dog, but took her to another park and made an indecent film. Vanessa Crossley prosecuting, said police were first alerted when the boy told his mother a year later. A search of Rowley’s car revealed video tapes and evidence related to the indecent assault. She added Rowley candidly admitted to police about taking videos, which he had kept for his own gratification.  In mitigation, Kathryn Roughton said Rowley had had a lot of time to grow up since the offences, which took place when he was aged 19.  She also said the boy and his sister had appeared to be laughing and joking in one of the videos and Rowley had no previous convictions.
